Tjörn Runt Race – where did the wind go?

We were all excited and ready for another race, Hanna, Hanna, Siri, Elin, and Inez came to Stenungsund to board Johanna. We had prepped her by taking out as much as we could. The start went well, the spinnaker went up, the speed and mood were great and the team was munching quite a few boats up front.

Lots of starts and bots up front to chase. Looking good right after the start and passing the Tjörn Bridge.

Then. the wind died out and left the area...only to be compensated with current moving the boats. Unfortunately in the wrong direction. Some of the crews in other boats dived into the warm water, music was turned up and a sense of "after sail party" spread around the boats. Johanna and some 30 others eventually gave up and started the engines...
