Prepping for Riga – Thank you Rikard!
Gotta love my new friend Rikard Silfverhielm. At 9.00 AM he came walking from the bus at Fårösund with a big smile and said "Hi, I am Rikard, are we ready to go?". Less than 12 hours earlier he texted me for the first time ever from his home on the mainland. Never met him before. Now a friend for life.
The great story with Rikard is longer than this, and more will be told here, just wanted to get this posted to honor his helping hands and company. (What's happening behind him? Well, the wind totally died out and we tried to sail with only the spinnaker for a while:-). Before we left for Riga, while fixing with the stinking microplastic samples on the pier we realized that our neighbors were three young marine biology students. They could-t keep themselves away from the samples haha... What are the odds? They came sailing from Estonia and are planning for a round-the-world journey. We had a great time together and made an interview of course...
